Happy New Year! The Codorus Press crew was busy over the holidays fulfilling orders and getting set for our great new offerings in 2012. Hey, news flash! It’s the 21st century! So why are the big publishers doing things the same way they did it when Charles Dickens was topping the best seller lists? Good question.
We at Codorus Press prefer instead to think about the future of publishing. For us, that future lies in our unique collective model that pools the talents of our principals to publish great new works of fiction, non-fiction, guidebooks and children’s literature.
HOW DO WE DO IT?
We do this by maintaining a lean, mean organizational structure and embracing all the great stuff at our disposal – hard copy books, e-books, social networking, blogging, viral video, podcasting, and personal appearances at which we spread the gospel of what we do (sometimes using creepy pseudo-religious tracts, but more on that later).
But we’re not just working for us, we’re also working for you, the aspiring independent publisher. We’ve established ourselves as THE experts in indie publishing in today’s heavily competitive market and love sharing that information whenever we can.
WE WANT TO HELP YOU
Our outreach program, The Wandering Heretics Independent Publishing Tent Revival and Old Time Medicine Show, brings an interactive song and dance about the joys, benefits, rewards and occasionally cruel realities of indie publishing to your bookstore, writing group, school or other organization.
Codorus Consulting, meanwhile, is our paid indie publishing consulting service that will help you navigate the sometimes treacherous waters of going up against the publishing industrial complex while maintaining your sanity, artistic integrity and financial solvency.
